Towards a new book on the Government of Wales

Some notes from a work in progress.

My next book will be on the making of the Welsh Government. It will be a historical look at the first 25 years of the Welsh Government 1999-2024.

In this sub-section I will set out some notes as I commence the research on the book.

The new book will be an academic work, looking at the creation of the Welsh Government from the behind-the-scenes discussions in the Blair Cabinet in 1997, then as the Welsh Government develops in shape and function over the twenty-five years from 1999, facing the challenges of austerity, Brexit and Covid along the way. 

It’s likely to take me a few years to write, so this Substack will be a space where emerging ideas are developed.
