Thanks to The Rest is Politics for highlighting my comments about how the government can take on Elon Musk without new legislation. That already had my highest readership before The Rest is Politics Broadcast.
For those who haven’t seen it, I am pleased that the Information Commissioner has confirmed they are looking at Musk’s use of Twitter users data to train Grok without asking permission.
For those new subscribers who have joined since The Rest is Politics, welcome! Just to explain how this Substack normally works: I post twice each week, normally. The first post of the week, on a Monday, relates to UK politics and sometimes Tech regulation usually based on my past research for my recent book on Ministerial Leadership or my previous book on Facebook, or other writings. The second post, usually on a Thursday, relates to my research for my next book on the making of the Welsh Government, as I work my way through Welsh Government Cabinet Papers to develop a chronology, laced with contemporary references form my own diaries and blogs.
I hope you enjoy what you find.
You can also find me on Bluesky at: leightonandrews.bsky.social and Xitter (for now)
